My family is originally from Kerala, which is a state in the southern part of India. While visiting my husband's family, in Kerala, one summer, his ninety-three-year-old grandmother, whom we call "Ammachi", introduced me to the world of crochet.  Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for her to teach me all the basic stitches. Thankfully, when we traveled to Tanzania, (where my husband and I worked for a year and a half as teachers) my friend, Robyn taught me more stitches and shared her patterns with me. Thanks to both Ammachi and Robyn, I felt confident to venture out on my own. Since then, I have worked on party pouches, doilies, runners, dreamcatchers and looking to expand further.
